The Vampire Chronicles Book Club

So, I'm rather grateful that Anne seems to have discovered chapter breaks for TVL, as it made it much easier to read when it didn't go on and on. It meant that when I started on Thursday I was able to finish by Saturday without feeling like reading was a chore.

I was also amused, because while I remembered Tirlaeyn and I had a running conversation over many nights that we referred to as Our Conversation, I had forgotten that it was because that was what Lestat called his meet-ups with Nicki. Ours had no drinking or Golden Moments tho.

I had forgotten just how extra Lestat can be. Like, I remembered he was the Brat Prince, but still, he is so very vain and over the top. Incredibly charismatic but also I feel like he could be diagnosed as bipolar with his swings between manic passion and dark depression.

Also, I could really visualise the wolf-hunting scene and I really hope the cinematic version lives up to the tense description given in the book. I'm not sure what other scenes I really want to see on the screen, although I was picturing Gillian Anderson as Gabrielle as she had the conversation with Lestat how she was dying.

Who can you picture as Lestat, Nicki, or Gabrielle? Or any of the other minor characters so far?
